Today, we focus on surrendering our cravings and becoming good stewards of our hearts. Proverbs 22:7 reminds us: “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”
This verse teaches us that whatever we depend on becomes our master — it may not only be money, but also approval, comfort, pride, or fear. Fasting is a sacred act of breaking those invisible chains and letting the Spirit take the lead.
As you fast, ask yourself:
- Am I being ruled by my cravings, desires, or fears?
- Am I letting God be the master of my heart?
Take a moment to pray:
“Lord, I lay every craving, desire, and fear before You. Teach me to be a good steward of my heart and to walk in Your wisdom. Help me depend on You fully and find peace in Your presence.”
Today, choose surrender over control, trust over turmoil, and Spirit over flesh. Let your fast be a space where Heaven fills what the world could never satisfy.
Heavenly Father,
Today I come before You not to ask for more,
but to return what was never mine to hold.
Every craving, every habit, every false comfort — I lay it before You.
Teach me to be a good steward of my heart,
not a servant to my desires.
Help me walk in wisdom,
to trust You more deeply,
and to depend on You more fully.
Let this fast be my offering,
a moment where hunger becomes holiness,
and my surrender becomes strength.
Amen.
