Fasting With Jesus – Day 19
Growing in Grace and Knowing Christ More Deeply
As we enter Day 19 of our fasting journey, the Lord invites us into a deeper place — a place of growth, maturity, and spiritual awakening. Today’s scripture, 2 Peter 3:18, is a gentle yet powerful call to keep moving forward in our walk with Jesus.
2 Peter 3:18 declares:
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
These words remind us that our fast is not just about sacrifice — it is about transformation.
Grace Helps You Grow
“But grow in the grace…”
Grace is not just forgiveness — it is empowerment.
It strengthens you. It teaches you. It carries you.
Titus 2:11–12 explains that “the grace of God… teaches us to say ‘no’ to ungodliness.”
During fasting, you may feel moments of weakness, but grace meets you there — helping you grow beyond what you could do on your own.
Grace is God’s gentle hand lifting you when you stumble and guiding you when you are unsure.
You are growing, even if you don’t feel it yet.
Knowing Christ More Deeply
“…and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
This isn’t head knowledge — it’s heart knowledge.
It’s the kind of knowing that comes from relationship, from seeking, from drawing near.
Jeremiah 29:13 says:
“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Fasting sharpens your spiritual senses.
It quiets the noise.
It opens your heart to hear Him more clearly.
You are not just learning about Jesus — you are getting to know Him personally, intimately, deeply.
Growth Is a Journey, Not a Moment
Growth doesn’t happen in an instant.
It’s formed in your discipline, your worship, your surrender.
Philippians 1:6 assures us that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”
God celebrates your small steps.
He honors your efforts.
He sees the desire in your heart, and He is shaping you day by day.
Your fast is producing fruit — even the fruit you can’t see yet.
Glory to Jesus, Now and Forever
“To Him be glory both now and forever!”
Everything you lay down…
Everything you surrender…
Everything you pray…
…honors Jesus.
Your fast is worship.
Your growth brings Him glory.
As you draw closer to Him, your life becomes a testimony of His grace and goodness.
A Closing Reflection for Day 19
As you move through this day of fasting, let Scripture guide your heart:
- Grow in grace (Titus 2:11–12).
- Grow in knowing Christ (Jeremiah 29:13).
- Trust the process of transformation (Philippians 1:6).
- Give Him the glory (2 Peter 3:18).
God is growing you.
God is leading you.
God is revealing Himself to you in a deeper way.
Walk through this day expecting growth — and trusting that Jesus is shaping you from the inside out.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for inviting me to grow in Your grace and in the knowledge of who You are. Help me today to lean into Your presence, to walk in Your wisdom, and to open my heart to the transformation You are working in me. Strengthen me as I fast, teach me through Your Word, and draw me closer to You every moment. To You be the glory, now and forever. Amen.
