Have you ever wondered why the Bible contains so many names, generations and historical details?
The Book of 1 Chronicles takes us on an incredible journey — from Adam through generations of God’s people, all the way to King David.
But there is so much more behind those names! 👑
The genealogies remind us of God’s faithfulness through generations and the importance of Israel’s identity and heritage.
And then we reach David…
David prepared abundantly for the house of the Lord, even though he would never be the one to build the Temple himself. His heart was focused on honouring God and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.
💭 What can we learn from this today?
God keeps His promises.
God values faithfulness.
God can use people with a willing heart.
And sometimes, the work we do today is preparing the way for something that someone else will complete tomorrow.
1 Chronicles reminds us that every generation has a purpose, every name has a place, and God’s promises continue through the generations.
🙏 May we also be people who prepare, serve faithfully and leave a legacy that honours God.
“HERE I AM” — let us be ready when God calls.
