The Bible contains some fascinating details that can have a much deeper meaning when we look at the context.

In Ezekiel 4:9, God instructed Ezekiel to combine wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet and spelt to make bread. This was part of a prophetic message concerning the difficult conditions that would come upon Jerusalem during the siege.

It reminds us that even the smallest details in Scripture can carry meaning and point us toward God’s message.

“But take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt; put them in a single container and make them into bread for yourself.”
— Ezekiel 4:9

Reflection:
God’s Word is intentional. When we take time to study the context, we often discover layers of meaning that we may have missed before.

His Word still speaks today.
