Where It Started ❤️
Eastrand Helping Souls started in January 2026 with just around 40 members and one simple purpose — to help people who were struggling and had nowhere else to turn.
What started as a small community quickly became something much bigger: a family of people who believe that nobody should have to face difficult times alone.
The Heart Behind It — Tristan 🖤
At the centre of Eastrand Helping Souls is Tristan , whose passion for helping people became the driving force behind the movement.
Tristan didn’t start this because he had everything figured out or because he expected anything in return.
He started it because he saw people struggling and simply couldn’t walk away.
From answering messages late at night, arranging food parcels and donations, collecting and delivering items, organising feeding initiatives and working with other organisations — Tristan has put countless hours, energy and heart into building Eastrand Helping Souls.
A lot of the work happens quietly, behind the scenes.
The phone calls nobody sees.
The difficult conversations.
The requests that cannot always be fulfilled.
The travelling, organising, collecting and planning.
And sometimes the emotional weight of knowing that there are more people needing help than there are resources available.
Yet Tristan keeps going.
Because for him, it’s never just a food parcel. It’s a family. It’s a child. It’s a parent. It’s someone’s last bit of hope.

It’s about the heart behind the giving.
A bag of clothes can make someone feel cared for.
A warm meal can get someone through a difficult day.
A donated wheelchair can give someone independence.
A bicycle can help a parent get to work.
A small act of kindness can remind someone that they haven’t been forgotten.

Sometimes we have to say no, even when our hearts want to say yes.
But we will always try.

From 40 members to a growing East Rand community, this journey has never been about one person.
It’s about Tristan, the volunteers, the donors, the organisations, the supporters and every single person who has chosen to care.
