Scripture Reading: Ruth 1–4
Key Verse: “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” — Ruth 1:16
Naomi’s story is one of profound loss, unwavering faith, and God’s redeeming grace. She experienced the death of her husband and both of her sons, leaving her feeling empty and hopeless. In her grief, she even said, “Call me Mara,” meaning “bitter,” because she believed life had dealt harshly with her (Ruth 1:20).
Yet Naomi chose to return to Bethlehem—the place of God’s provision. Although she could not see what God was doing, He was already working behind the scenes. Through Ruth’s loyalty and Boaz’s kindness, God restored Naomi’s joy, family, and hope. Her story reminds us that God can turn seasons of sorrow into testimonies of redemption.
Lessons from Naomi
Trust God even when life doesn’t make sense.
God never abandons His children in their darkest moments.
Faithfulness and loyalty are always rewarded in God’s perfect timing.
God can restore what seems permanently lost.
Have you been carrying disappointment, grief, or unanswered prayers? Naomi’s journey reminds us that the end of one chapter is not the end of God’s story. He is always working for our good, even when we cannot see it.
Let’s Pray
Heavenly Father, thank You for Naomi’s testimony of faith and restoration. Help us to trust You through every season, even when life is painful and uncertain. Strengthen our faith, renew our hope, and remind us that You are always at work. Restore what has been broken according to Your perfect will, and let our lives bring glory to You. In Yeshua’s name, Amen.
